WatchCat Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective and last updated: August 26, 2026
In plain language: you can cancel at any time and keep paid access until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not offer discretionary refunds for a period that has started. Your statutory consumer rights, and the policy of Paddle as merchant of record, still apply — sections 6 and 7 say how. This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
1. Summary
WatchCat sells digital subscriptions that are delivered immediately and used continuously. Because of that, fees for a billing period that has begun are not refundable as a matter of course. Instead, cancellation is always available, takes one click, and never costs you the access you have already paid for.
2. What this policy covers
Pro subscriptions, monthly and annual, purchased through Paddle's checkout in USD. The Free plan involves no payment, so there is nothing to refund and nothing to cancel. If you ever buy WatchCat through another store, that store's refund rules apply to that purchase instead.
3. The free plan is the trial
You do not have to pay to find out whether WatchCat suits you. The Free plan is not a time-limited teaser: watch-time tracking, Shorts and videos counted separately, daily limits with the calm soft block and PIN, and 30 days of history are free, need no account, and do not expire. Evaluate it for as long as you like before you subscribe.
4. Cancelling, and what happens to your access
Cancel at any time, without giving a reason, from the dashboard under Profile → Subscription, or through the billing portal linked from your receipt.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal charge. It does not end your current period.
- You keep paid access until the “Access until” date shown in the dashboard, and you can undo the cancellation at any time before that date.
- There is no partial or pro-rata refund for the unused remainder of a period you have already paid for.
- After that date the account returns to Free. The extension keeps tracking locally and keeps enforcing your limits; cloud history transfer stops and stored cloud data is handled under the Privacy Policy.
5. No refunds for a period that has started
Once a monthly or annual period has begun, its fee is not refundable. That includes stopping using WatchCat mid-period, forgetting to cancel before a renewal, being unable to use a supported site because it changed, and having an account suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms of Service. Cancel before a renewal date to avoid the next charge.
6. Your statutory rights, including the EU and UK right of withdrawal
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law. That includes remedies where a service is faulty, is not as described, or is not supplied with reasonable care and skill.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, distance contracts for digital services carry a 14-day right of withdrawal. At checkout you are asked to agree that performance begins immediately and to acknowledge that you lose that right once the service has been fully performed — Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and regulation 37 of the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Where that consent and acknowledgement were not obtained, or where the law that applies to you requires it for another reason, the 14-day right of withdrawal applies and we will refund you in full, or pro rata, as the law requires. To exercise it, email hello@getwatchcat.com within 14 days of your purchase with your order reference. You do not have to give a reason. Consumers elsewhere may have equivalent mandatory rights, and those apply too.
7. The merchant of record
The merchant of record for WatchCat subscriptions is Paddle: it takes the payment, issues the invoice, and is the seller of record for the transaction. It may refund or reverse a payment under its own refund policy and terms, or because of fraud, a chargeback, or a legal requirement, independently of this policy.
Where Paddle refunds a payment, the corresponding WatchCat paid access ends once it informs us, and the account returns to Free. Repeated refunds or chargebacks may lead to an account being suspended.
8. When we will refund or credit anyway
The rule in section 5 is about changing your mind. It is not a way to keep money for something that did not work. We will put things right in these cases:
- You were charged but the paid entitlement never activated on your account, and we cannot fix it.
- You were charged twice for the same period, or charged in error.
- You were charged after a cancellation had already taken effect.
- A defect on our side made the paid features unusable for a substantial part of a period and we could not fix it in a reasonable time.
We work through the remedies in order: fix the problem first; if we cannot, credit or extend your period; if that is not appropriate, refund the affected period.
9. Plan changes and price changes
Moving between monthly and annual billing takes effect immediately and is prorated. Moving from monthly to annual is charged straight away for the remainder of the current period; moving from annual back to monthly applies just as immediately and leaves the difference in your favour as credit against your next invoice. That credit is not a refund: it is not paid back to your card and it is not paid out in cash. Section 9 of the Terms of Service describes the same rule in full.
If we raise the price of your plan, we will tell you before the renewal it applies to, and you can cancel before that renewal.
10. If we stop offering a paid plan
If we discontinue the paid service or your plan, we will stop renewals and refund or credit the unused remainder of any period you have prepaid. This matters most on annual plans.
11. How to ask
Email hello@getwatchcat.com with the subject “Refund request” and include the order or receipt reference from your confirmation email, the account email address, and what went wrong. We aim to reply within five business days.
Approved refunds are issued through Paddle to the original payment method, in USD. Your bank or card issuer decides how quickly the money appears — typically five to ten business days. We cannot compensate for exchange-rate movement or for fees your own bank charges.
12. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. A chargeback filed without contacting us first may lead to the account being suspended, and we will provide Paddle with the transaction records it asks for. Almost every dispute is faster to resolve by email.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes get a new version and effective date at the top of this page. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase. Earlier versions may be requested by email.
